Event Report by Dan
On the 18th March 2010, scouts spent their last day of the Easter Holidays on completing their Master Of Arms badge. Groups attended from Sheppy, Upchurch, Medway, Gillingham, Whistable, Maidstone, Tonbridge and Dartford.
Scouts arrived in the Howard School at 9am to start their day of fencing, archery and air rifle shooting. They divided themselves into three groups, introducing themselves to other fellow scouts. Once in their groups they began their first activity of the day.
Group 1 began fencing with help from Dean Harding, the ACC (Assistant County Comissioner) of Kent. Group 2 started achery while Group 3 started air rifle shooting with their tutor.
Helen Webber from St. Lukes Scout Group was taking part in air rifle shooting when she quoted "It was a very enjoyable experience, although it could take a lot of practice to be able to get a good score. I would happily do it again!". Sian, Adam and Harry from 14th Medway had just finished archery when I asked them what they thought of their experience. "It was quite tiring after a while but it was worth it!". William was taking his break from fencing when he shared his beliefs on the day. "I think it's great that the scouts allow us to do things we couldn't do everyday! I've had a good time and I would very much like to do it again".
